Dr. James C. “Jes” Montgomery, MD, DABAM, DABPN, serves as Medical Director at Greenhouse Treatment Center, where he provides compassionate, evidence-based care for individuals living with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.

With more than 46 years of medical experience, Dr. Montgomery is board certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. He began his career as a family physician before dedicating his practice to addiction medicine and later completing his residency in psychiatry. Throughout his career, he has helped individuals and families navigate recovery while also serving in leadership roles at treatment centers across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Dr. Montgomery believes effective treatment begins by caring for the whole person. His approach recognizes the complex relationship between addiction, mental health, trauma, and family dynamics, allowing him to tailor care to each patient’s unique needs. He is passionate about helping people achieve lasting recovery while restoring hope, stability, and overall well-being.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Montgomery is a nationally recognized speaker, educator, and published author. He has presented at conferences across the United States and internationally on addiction medicine, physician wellness, professional ethics, and maintaining healthy professional boundaries. He co-authored The Ethical Risks of Professional Boundaries: When to Say Whoa, When to Say No, reflecting his longstanding commitment to ethical, patient-centered care.

Outside of work, Dr. Montgomery enjoys cooking Cajun cuisine, spending time with family, and making music. He believes recovery is one of life’s greatest opportunities for growth and considers it a privilege to walk alongside patients as they build healthier, more fulfilling lives.
