With a strong foundation in case management, crisis intervention, and outreach, Barbara has built her career working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and homelessness. Her approach is rooted in compassion, trauma-informed care, and a belief in every person’s capacity for change.

Before her current role, Barbara served in two impactful positions at True Worth Place in Fort Worth, TX. As a Diversion Specialist/Case Manager, she worked creatively to prevent shelter entry by mediating family and landlord relationships, facilitating access to resources, and developing sustainable housing solutions. Earlier, as an Outreach Case Manager, she provided direct support to unsheltered individuals, conducting assessments, reducing systemic barriers, and advocating for long-term housing solutions.

Barbara also worked as a Registered Behavioral Technician at Merakey Autism Center, supporting children with autism through structured interventions and social skills training. At Millwood Hospital, she served as a Mental Health Technician, assisting patients with daily living, safety monitoring, and therapeutic activities in an inpatient setting.

She is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Texas at Arlington, having completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Science in 2024. Barbara holds certifications as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) and is trained in CPI, QBS, CPR, and First Aid.

Barbara is known for her active listening, critical thinking, and energetic, solution-focused mindset. Whether working one-on-one or as part of a multidisciplinary team, she brings heart, professionalism, and purpose to her mission of serving vulnerable populations and supporting others in recovery.
