Jamila York is a passionate and skilled therapist at Greenhouse Treatment Center, where she provides compassionate, client-centered care to individuals working through substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Drawing on her extensive background in behavioral intervention, crisis management, and psychology, Jamila is dedicated to fostering trust, resilience, and long-term recovery for every client she serves.
Jamila holds a Master of Science in Psychology with a specialty in Industrial Psychology from the University of Phoenix, where she was named to the Dean’s List (2024–2025). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Texas, graduating cum laude with consistent honors on the President’s and Dean’s Lists. She is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and an active member of the Texas Psychological Association and the Texas Association of Addiction Professionals.
Before joining Greenhouse, Jamila served as a Treatment Advocate with American Addiction Centers, guiding individuals through the early stages of treatment and acting as a vital link between clients, providers, and recovery resources. She also brings over five years of experience as a Senior Behavioral Interventionist in the education system, where she developed behavioral protocols and trained staff to support children with complex emotional and psychological needs.
A former U.S. Air Force Reservist, Jamila combines discipline, empathy, and deep clinical insight in every aspect of her therapeutic approach. She is trained in Trauma-Informed Care and Crisis Management and is known for her ability to de-escalate tense situations with grace, compassion, and professionalism.
Her core strengths include group counseling, case management, creative problem-solving, and behavior modification—all rooted in her belief that healing begins with dignity, connection, and hope.
